GPF Philippines was among the 200 partners recognized by Department of Education (DepEd) at its recently concluded Partners’ Appreciation Program held on February 12 at Bulwagan ng Karunungan in Pasig City.
Education Secretary Leonor Magtolis Briones was present in the program to thank all the partners and stakeholders for helping the Department to carry out its mandate to deliver quality, accessible, relevant, and liberating basic education.
GPF Philippines was among the organizations who responded to the call of DepEd for private sector participation in public education by partnering its programs and initiatives such as All-Lights Village Project, GlobALS, Character and Creativity Initiative, and Global Peace Volunteers Camp. As of today, GlobALS has benefitted more than 3,000 learners in 40 All-Lights Village communities and GlobALS learning sites which are mostly underserved.
Undersecretary for Legislative Affairs, External Partnerships and School Sports Tonisito M.C. Umali, Esq., during his welcome message and statement of appreciation, also emphasized the importance of partnerships in education: “Partnerships have become an important paradigm in delivering and achieving development goals and services. Through partnerships, all the necessary stakeholders get involved to address the immediate needs of our learners, and invest to help bridge the gaps in the field of education.”
