Leadership is indeed about life. It is neither authority nor power but rather it is a way of living which we encounter every second, every minute, every hour and every day. Being called as IYLA Global Ambassador is like a pressure, a big responsibility, and big expectations. But I have realized that being an IYLA Global Ambassador doesn’t mean that thing. But it is beyond and deeper. It is a vocation, a calling, an invitation to be humble, compassionate, just, kind, and faithful to God.
“The experience is incomparable. It helped me further develop my leadership skills and I got to interact with people of different races and aspirations. It has reignited my passion for my nation and has made me even more excited to go back home and keep doing what I am doing.”
It was a very fulfilling experience for me as well as with other volunteers since we all love little kids and putting up a smile on their faces was truly a rewarding prize. Giving the solar lanterns to the family and turning the lights on was very emotional. Volunteer work is for everyone, to harness our values as a person especially for young people.
