On January 26, Global Peace Foundation and Consuelo Zobel Alger Foundation launched the first 2020 Campus Tour at the Grand Theater of the University of Makati with 2400 students in attendance.
The Global Peace Foundation Philippines has aligned its youth development initiatives to the United Nations 2030 Youth Strategy to ensure the engagement and participation of young people in the implementation of 2030 Agenda. As one of the targets in the UN Youth Strategy, “Promoting Safe Spaces” will be a common priority area among GPF Philippines’ youth development projects and activities in 2020 and beyond.
This 2020, Global Peace Foundation and Consuelo Zobel Alger Foundation will launch the 2020 CAMPUS TOURS in 20 selected schools in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, and will include sessions on the importance of Safe Spaces and youth’s role in promoting safe and supportive environments.
As output for Campus Tour 2020, the 2020 Search for Youth Innovation in Promoting Safe Spaces was opened for students from the 20 institutions included in the campus tour wherein they will design innovative solutions in reducing and preventing all forms of violence and abuse in schools, communities, workplace, and virtual space.
