On November 15, 2018, the Department of Education and Global Peace Foundation Philippines held the second Global Peace Education Summit at the Edilberto P. Dagot Hall in Philippine Normal University, Manila.
This year’s theme, “Moral and Innovative Leadership: New Models for Education Transformation and Development,” convened 15 experts from diverse backgrounds, 97 participants from 24 (public and private) schools, government agencies, and non-government organizations
The summit explored education opportunities and addressed development challenges by gathering key stakeholders around universal principles and shared values in creating a prosperous and peaceful future. The Global Peace Education Summit particularly addressed the following issues:
▪ Nurturing Character, Creativity and Relationships in Schools
▪ Smart Workforce and Entrepreneurship Readiness
▪ Moral and Innovative Leadership Professional Development
▪ Practitioner Highlights (Character and Creativity Practice Sharing: Opportunities and Challenges of Creative and Collaborative Teaching)
