The Turn-Over Ceremony of Solar Lanterns and Solar Street Lights in the school held last February 5, 2020 at 11:00 in the morning at Canaan East National High School gymnasium.
The first part of the program served as the platform for the school representative toacknowledge the invited guests and selected recipients. The IP community Group proudly presented their native dance to entertain the visitors and recipients.
Afterwards, Hon. Marissa V. Agtual, Barangay Captain of Canaan East, and Mr. Alberto D. Bituing, Municipal Representative of Indigenous People gave welcome remarks in the program.
Jocelyn F. Remigio, Program Director of Global Peace Foundation Philippines elaborated the background of the projects entitled One Child, One Lamp Project. Furthermore, Joongseok “Ronald” Park stated the purpose of the project into the learners
and Indigenous People/Families.
The second part of the program icludes the Sisterhood Ceremony led by Madam Jenifer S. Villarosa, Teacher II of Senior High School Department. Three representatives from the Korean donors, parents and teachers were called in front for the symbolic ceremony. This symbolizes unity, as One Family under God coinciding in the vision of Global Peace Foundation.
Donations worth 6, ooo US dollars consists of: one hundred pieces (100) solar lanterns, five(5) solar lights system, 100 bags of school supplies, and 10 bags of clothes for were distributed for the the All- Lights Villages of Rizal.
Afterwards, donors, guests, visitors, CENHS administrative, faculty and staff and the recipients proceeded in the Senior High School site for the installation of solar outdoor lights.
Through this lights, it symbolizes hope and served as lights to achieve their dreams, for the learners and for the school. Canaan East National High School headed by the School Principal III madam Maria Soledad V. Dadez will continue the development of the school to ensure an enabling and supportive environment for effective learning to happen coincide on the DepEd vision and mission.
There will also be conduct of regular monitoring and evaluation in the performances of recipients to identify the impact of One Child, One Lamp Project on them.
