Global Peace Volunteers Summer Camp 2015


GPV Camp inspires and empowers young minds of today to positively impact the society. The membership entry-level of  Global Peace Youth. GPV Summer Camp in the Philippines was attended by 20 youth leaders from Cambodia, Indonesia and the Philippines.


GPF Philippines Executive Director, Aldrin Nituma, shared the efforts of Global Peace Foundation around the globe and the Philippines. He also gave the importance of GPF’s core values and how the participants move out of own box of identity into a community of one family under God and global citizens. GPY Philippines Director, Leonard Faustino, expressed the important role of young people in the society and that young people should be action-oriented and goal focused to achieved one’s vision in life.


Global Peace Education Division Director, Ann Marlita Arevalo served as the main lecturer for the 3 days summer camp. Personal transformation and Understanding of GPF’s aspirations, principles and values are one of the primary goals of GPV Summer Camp 2015. For the participants to develop their sense of purpose and connect their purpose with greater good.


Participants discover their strength and weaknesses through different challenges like zip-line, wall climbing and rappelling. Team-building activities are powerful way to unite a group, develop strengths, and address weaknesses. The purpose behind every decision to do the exercise and improving the team's problem-solving or creativity skills.

The welcome dinner was hosted by Hon. Jay Manalo Ilagan, municipal mayor of Mataas na Kahoy, Batangas. Hon. Leovino Hidalgo, municipal mayor of Balete, Batangas was also present during the welcome dinner and gave his inspirational message. The participants also prepared their team presentation for welcome dinner.


The leadership adventure race amplifies the participants development as a leader and being a team player. A framework that pull together action learning from each of the participant to reach their goals and be engaged and accountable with the result of the race.


The candle of peace session aims to give the participants an avenue to share their own life’s endeavor. A way for them to learn how to trust others and learning that they are not alone in all the challenges and trials they have in life. A session that also gave them the opportunity to give gratitude to their co-participants that in one way or another inspires them to be the change they want to see the world.


The GPV Summer Camp participants’ service project site was at ALV Calawit in Batangas, 30 minutes boat-ride from the municipality of Balete, Batangas. Part of the service project is feeding program for 150 children and the participants also organized activities for the ALV children as part of their commitment in serving the community. Participants understand and accept that all people,despite the differences, share universal principles such as

love, kindness, resect and empathy.
