GPF joins Department of Education LightEd PH

Department of Education Secretary Br. Armin Luistro: This is our last mile. We have the resources to do it. We only have to be single-hearted in doing it.

Global Peace Foundation Philippines together with Children's Hour, One Meralco Foundation and other partners of the Department of Education gathered together for the launch of LightEd Ph at the Central Office of DepEd. A campaign that aims to provide solutions to schools and homes that have no electricity through convention and alternative sources of energy.

According to Deriquito, there are 5,954 schools in the PH that are either unenergized or in remotes & off-grid areas as of SY 2013-2014.

GPF Philippines through the All-Lights Village are helping far-flung communities, IP communities and schools that don't have electricity in the country.

"Vision and education for our children is utmost important for our country's progress, giving our children hope and inspiration to further develop their potentials and talents through the help of light that we provide them." stressed by Jocelyn Remigio, Director of Global Peace Development Division, GPF.
